Your Questions About Small Appliance Repair

Donna asks…

Why does it sound like my washing machine is going to blow up?

How come whenever i do laundry, it always sounds like the washing machine is going to fall right over and blow up, even when its a REALLY small load. I try to go and balance it out but it never works anymore! Should i be concerned or go to a laundry mat to do laundry from now on or what? Is it okay and im totally over reacting?

PS- its a old machine that you load from the top, not one of the fancy front load ones!

James Conley answers:

Sounds like the machine needs major repair. It should not sound like it is going to blow up! Depending upon the model and make will depend upon what the problem is. Call an appliance repair company to make repairs or buy a new one.

Robert asks…

how do i choose what apartment to buy out of 3 choices?

one is in the center of everything and really cosy but very small and old.

Another is newer, bigger has a great view and all preferable facilities but 25 min walking distance from everything.

The last one is completely new, little lack of charm but luxurious and driving distance from everything.. Prices are the same more or less for all 3 of them.

How did YOU choose your home? Any secret tecnique i do not know about?

James Conley answers:

I think it’s a matter of personal preference. Which one seems more like “home” to you?

Out of the three, is there one in which you would not feel safe, or would security be an issue?

I am a practical person, so I would consider the climate and heating/cooling costs. I would also be concerned about structure, repairs, etc. If I were going to buy a place. Although the older apartment may be charming, as many are, I’d have someone check out the heating system, plumbing, appliances, roof, exterior, etc.

I’d consider the lawn/landscaping as well. Is there upkeep involved, or a fee paid to an assoication to maintain the lawn?

You might want to consider your neighbors, too. If you are single and young, you may not want to live in a neighborhood with lots of youngsters playing and barking dogs, etc. Conversely, you may not want to live in a senior citizens’ community if this doesn’t fit your lifestyle.

If you purchase a place, have you checked home insurance coverage prices and taxes?

It’s hard to make a decision like this, I know. Just think it through, and choose what’s best for you. Good luck.

Maria asks…

I’m looking for a small appliance (Kitchenaid Mixer) repair store in Atlanta?

Preferably in the Gwinnett area, that can repair a kitchenaid mixer. I had no luck looking online…thanks!
